Bambelo is rapidly expanding across borders

With now more than 40 platforms, Bambelo makes daily matches between consumers and service providers such as real estate agents, solar panel suppliers, painters or movers. A concept that has made Bambelo a leader in the Netherlands in 15 years. But the company's ambitions go further. CEO Frank van Run on the company's international plans.

When people ask me what makes working at Bambelo so fun, I always say: 'Go to makelaarwijzer.nl, comparamudanzas.es, immokantoorvergelijker.be or one of our other sites and make a match with one of our partners. Because when a match is made, the consumer is happy and the partner is happy... and we as Bambelo are happy. We now make almost a quarter of a million matches a year for people all over Europe, and that makes working at Bambelo great fun!

Scalable model

Ten years ago, we took our first steps across the border with a number of websites in Belgium. Spain followed in 2017 and we started in Italy last year. We knew that our model is highly scalable and that we can accelerate that scalability with each new country, but we also realized that we can only make the right matches if we really know how partners and consumers think in a particular country or region. So we immediately started working with a combination of local teams and people in the Netherlands who speak the language and know the culture.

That our model is also catching on abroad is shown by the figures: in 2022, over 11 million euros worth of tenders went through our system in Italy. This means we helped more than 1,500 Italian consumers in their search for a solar panel specialist or broker. We are halfway through the year and already 36 million quotes are issued. And we have to, because our ambition is high: we aim to mediate over 100 million euros worth of quotes in Italy this year. This would mean a growth of 900% compared to last year.

One and a half billion euros' worth of tenders

Some one and a half billion euros' worth of tenders pass through our various platforms. This fits with our ambition to take a leading position in matching supply and demand in the main European countries. Our smart software is important for this, but what really sets us apart is our ambition, our proactive and results-oriented attitude. Whether it's zonnepanelenvergelijker.nl, comparamudanzas.es, immokantoorvergelijker.be or confrontapannellisolari.it: an international team of professionals works day in day out to match consumers across Europe to our more than 3,000 partners. To this end, we will soon be launching a new website that will allow people to find us quickly at all times. But more on that later...
